Into His Marvelous Light

Introduction

When walking out of a dark room into the sunshine, light can be blinding. As our eyes become accustomed to the light, we can see more clearly and enjoy the scenery that surrounds us. Likewise, when we look into the light of the scriptures, the brightness of truth can sometimes hurt. However, as our spiritual eyesight becomes adjusted we can enjoy "walking in the light".

This Bible study is designed to allow us to "walk" into the marvelous light of the Word of God. We will be journeying into the scriptures by imagining we are back in the days of Jesus and the Apostles, listening to them teach and preach the plan of salvation. In order to do this, we will be careful to "rightly" divide the word of the truth (2 Timothy 2:15) by concentrating on the highlights of the three main divisions of the New Testament in chronological order, including:

1 THE GOSPELS – covering the words and works of Jesus Christ

2 THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES -covering the actions and preaching of the Apostles

3 THE EPISTLES – covering the letters written by the Apostles to the churches they started in the Book of Acts.

We believe the scriptures are divinely inspired and, "of no private interpretation" (2 Peter 1:20-21). Therefore, every effort has been made to present the pure Word of God without adding to, or taking away from its teachings (Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:5-6).

It is not our intention to diminish any personal relationship you may have with our Lord. Neither do we desire to convince you of our own personal ideas or the creeds of any denomination. We simply desire to share the truth as it is written. Only by claiming the Bible as our sole authority can any of us be confident of our salvation, for it is the Word of God and not the traditions of men that will judge us all in the end.

Let us read 2 Timothy 3:15-16 as we begin our journey into the Word of God…

Into the Gospels…

John 1:1-5 & 14

In the beginning, the Word was God and became flesh. Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God.

John 1:11-13

If we believe in Him and receive Him, Jesus gives us power to become the sons of God by a supernatural birth. He spoke further about this new birth one night to a ruler of the Jews…

John 3:1-8

The Lord told Nicodemus that everyone who wanted to see or enter into the Kingdom of God, must be born again of water and the Spirit.

John 3:16-21

Jesus also told Nicodemus that whosoever believeth in Him should have eternal life. Jesus mentioned two seemingly different requirements for salvation. One is being born again. The other is believing. Yet, this is not a contradiction. The next scripture explains how believing is related to experiencing the birth of the Spirit…

John 7:38-39

Here, we discover that if we believe on Him (according to the Word), we will receive the Spirit. We find that scriptural belief is more than just a change in the way we think. It also results in a scriptural experience.

John 12:35-36 & 42-43

Today, just as in Jesus’ day, many believe on Him. But, they will not confess Him for fear of what others will do or say.

John 12:44

In response to their fearfulness, Jesus warns that His Spirit will judge us, so we must be careful not to reject it. Rather, we should believe and obey it… no matter what others say…

John 17:17-20

In Jesus’ prayer for his disciples, just before His crucifixion, He said God’s Word is truth. He also prayed for us; and for all those who would believe on Him through the Apostles’ word.

To find out what the Apostles’ word was to be, let us read what Jesus told them to proclaim. The setting of the following great commission scripture in Luke 24:45-49 is just after the Lord’s death, burial and resurrection… and just before His ascension into heaven.

"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

DID THE APOSTLES PREACH THE MESSAGE JESUS COMMANDED THEM TO PROCLAIM?

HOW WAS THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER FULFILLED?

Let us continue our journey into the Word of God by seeing what was preached and what happened at Jerusalem…

Into The Acts of the Apostles…

Acts 1:3-5

As we enter the Book of Acts, we discover almost immediately that the promise of the Father is the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:1-17

When the Apostles were at Jerusalem, they, along with many others, were joyously filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance (ability to speak). The amazed onlookers from many nations who heard them speaking with tongues asked, ‘What meaneth this?" Then Peter explained the promised coming of the Spirit and went on to preach Christ and the original apostolic plan of salvation.

Acts 2:36-38

When the people who heard Peter’s words believed that Jesus Christ was their Lord and Savior, they were sorry for their sins and asked Peter and the Apostles what they should do. Peter replied by preaching the message Jesus commanded to be preached in Luke 24:45-49. In light of this, consider the three elements of the Plan of Salvation that Peter preached in verse 38:

1 REPENTANCE

2 REMISSION OF SINS THROUGH BAPTISM IN JESUS’ NAME

3 RECEIVING THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST

NOTICE: Acts 2:38 is the fulfillment of the birth requirements Jesus mentioned inJohn 3:5 that were necessary to enter the Kingdom of God!

• water birth = baptism in the name of Jesus Christ!

• spirit birth = infilling of the Holy Ghost!

Now, let’s look at some more examples of people being born again of water and the Spirit as the Word Jesus gave His apostles continued to be preached throughout the Book of Acts…

• Phillip preaching to the Samaritans in Acts 8

NOTICE: Some people say when they experienced joy; or when they believed in Jesus, or when they were baptized, they were automatically filled with the Holy Ghost. But what does the Word say?

Acts 8:5-8

Did they have great joy?

Acts 8:12

Were they baptized in His name?

Did they believe in Jesus Christ?

Acts 8:14-17

Did they receive the Holy Ghost as a separate and distinct experience?

• Peter preaching to the Gentiles in Acts 10

NOTICE: Some people say being religious is enough, or that the Spirit-baptism evidenced by tongues was only for the day of Pentecost. If the Bible says this is true, then it is true. But the Word shows us through Cornelius’ experience that this is not true… then it is not….

Acts 10:1-2

Was Cornelius a religious man?

Acts 10:5-6

Did God have more for him to do?

Acts 10:44-46

Did they receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues after the day of Pentecost?

Acts 10:47-48

Did they still have to be baptized in Jesus’ name?

• Paul preaching to John’s disciples in Acts 19

NOTICE: Many people who are believers have not even heard about the Holy Ghost that is promised to them. Also, some people say it is not necessary to be baptized or re-baptize (if you were baptized by John the Baptist, would you think it would be necessary to be re-baptized using a different baptismal formula?) Others say it does not matter what is spoken when you are baptized. If the Bible indicates it does not matter, then it does not matter…but, what if the Bible shows us it DOES matter?

Acts 19:1-2

They were believers, but had they heard of or received the Holy Ghost?

Acts 19:3-5

Did those baptized by John the Baptist have to be rebaptized in Jesus’ name?

Acts 19:6

Was receiving the Holy Ghost accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in

other tongues?

We have found that the Apostles preached the following message:

…the life of Christ and His death, burial and resurrection

…repentance toward God and belief in Jesus Christ baptism in water by immersion in Jesus’ name

…receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost (which was accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues)

Now, let us read what the Apostles had to say about the message of salvation they

proclaimed in the Book of Acts. We can do this by reading the epistles (letters) they wrote to their converts.

Into the Epistles

As we read the Epistles, we will notice how strongly the Apostles felt about the gospel (good news) of salvation. This is not because they were being judgmental, it is because they knew the Word Jesus had given them to proclaim was going to judge all men.

What did Peter say?

"Ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth.. being born again.. by the word of God.. and this is the word which by gospel is preached unto you." (I Peter1:22-25)

Peter Asked A Question:

"…What shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (I Peter 4:17-18)

Paul Gave The Answer:

"The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and the obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power." (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)

What did Paul say?

"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than ye have received, let him be accursed." (Galations 1:6-9)

What did James say?

"….Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearer only, (deceiving your own selves). For if any be a hearer of

the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was." (James 1:21-24)

The Word is able to save our souls!

JAMES TELLS US THAT IF WE SEE SOMETHING WE NEED TO DO, AS WE LOOK INTO THE "MIRROR OF THE WORD", WE SHOULD DO IT. LET US NOW CONSIDER WHAT WE WILL DO WITH WHAT WE HAVE HEARD…

Conclusion

DO YOU BELIEVE the Word of God is true and will judge us?

DO YOU BELIEVE Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior?

DO YOU BELIEVE it is necessary to repent by determining to turn from sin and giving your life to God?

DO YOU BELIEVE water baptism in the same of Jesus Christ is the biblical way to be baptized?

DO YOU BELIEVE the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for you today, and when you receive it you will speak in other tongues, just as they did in the Bible?

IF YOU BELIEVE THESE THINGS, PRAY RIGHT NOW, ASKING GOD TO ALLOW YOU TO EXPERIENCE ALL THAT HE HAS FOR YOU!

Supplemental Study Scriptures:

(1) Matthew 7:13-24

NOTE: God’s warning regarding false prophets and the importance of being a doer and not just a hearer of the Word.

(2) Matthew 16:15-19

NOTE: Peter was given the "keys of the kingdom" because of his revelation of who Jesus Christ was.

(3) Other "Great Commission" scriptures":

NOTE: In Matthew 28:18-20 the word "name" is singular in this command to baptize. The Apostles obeyed this command when they baptized only in the name of Jesus, and did not use the titles mentioned here. (see Acts 4:12)

Mark 16:15-18. The importance of water baptism and the signs following believers.

(4) Matthew 16:15-19

NOTE: Peter, who was given the "keys of the kingdom", uses them to open the "kingdom door" by preaching the original apostolic message of salvation for the first time.

(5) Acts 8:35-39

NOTE: Philip must have mentioned baptism when he preached Jesus to the Eunuch, because the Eunuch asked to be baptized in water. The Greek root word for baptize is

"bapto", which literally means to cover wholly with fluid, to dip. (see also Romans 6:3-4).

(6) Acts 10:34-43

NOTE: Peter preached the life and lordship of Jesus Christ as well as His death, burial and resurrection.

(7) I Peter 3:20-21

NOTE: According to Peter baptism is an essential part of the plan of salvation.

PRAYER - "Jacob Blesses Joseph and Sons"

You can pronounce a blessing on others with special prayer. When Joseph presented his two sons to Jacob, the old man should have put his right hand on Mannaseh the older, but instead he switched them. He gave the first blessing to the younger son, just like his own father had done.

Genesis 48:16 - "The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."  Lets read the story.
Bible

Jacob Blesses His Sons

PRINCIPALS - "Ephraim and Manasseh"

Joseph begat his children in Egypt's royal household; Manasseh, "causing to forget," and Ephraim, "double fruit." When Grandfather Jacob came to Egypt and met his two new grandsons, he adopted them both. Afterward, Joseph's tribe was listed as two tribes - Ephraim and Manasseh. The priestly tribe, Levi, had no land inheritance, so there were still twelve tribes listed.

Genesis 48:5 - "And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine."  Lets read the story.

PRINCIPLES - "Reckoning Day"

Joseph is Sold

Jacob's sons hated Joseph because of his dreams. The dreams said they would bow to him. They determined that it would never happen. They would kill him if necessary to prevent it. But Judah pressed them only to sell him to slavery. They thought they were done with Joseph. But God was not through with them. It was all for a purpose. It does not pay to resist God's plan for your life. Sooner or later, reckoning day will come.

Genesis 43:18 - "And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house."  Lets read the story.  Bible

PROPHECIES - "Corn in Egypt

The famine in Canaan was no accident. God was orchestrating an epic story. God had warned Abraham many years earlier that his descendants would become strangers in a land that was not theirs. Now it was about to begin, but they had not a clue. Israel would be forced to Egypt to survive. But Joseph was already there with their salvation. So was God.
Genesis 42:2 - "And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die." Let’s read the story.  Bible

Peru We Give our Children to God

PRAYER - "It’s not  Late for Repentance"

God sentenced every Israelite over the age of twenty (except Joshua and Caleb) to wander in
the wilderness forty years because they doubted they could conquer the Promised Land. Everyone panicked and suddenly wanted to repent and go on to war. But it was too late. God's mind was made up. Be careful lest it happen to you.

Numbers 14:40 - "...And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper. Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies."

PRINCIPALS - "Childbirth"

Under the law, an issue of blood made one unclean. Therefore, childbirth rendered the mother unclean - seven days for a male child, two weeks for a female. Her purification process was 33 days for a male, 66 days for a female. After purification, she must bring a sacrificial offering for atonement to the tabernacle. After Jesus' blood made atonement at Calvary, these laws expired.

Leviticus 12:4 - "And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled."

PRINCIPLES - "Clean and Unclean Foods"

"Kosher" laws forbade eating "unclean" foods. The New Testament ended these laws. Paul said of various meats, "...for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse." (1 Corinthians 8:8). He countermanded teachings to "abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving." (1 Timothy 4:3).

Leviticus 11:46 - "This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, ...the unclean and the clean, ...the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten."

PROPHECIES - "Fire from the LORD"

God gloriously validated the new tabernacle with supernatural manifestations, including fire from Heaven to consume the sacrifices. God sent fire upon consecrated sacrifices numerous times in the Old Testament. Fire is a symbol of the Holy Ghost. 120 New Testament believers consecrated themselves in prayer in the Upper Room at Jerusalem. God sent His Spirit with tongues of fire falling on them all.

Leviticus 9:24 - "And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces."

2

PRAYER - "Moses Argues With God and Wins"

Poor Moses sent twelve spies to survey the Promised Land, but only Joshua and

Caleb had faith. The others turned all Israel against invading, provoking God to disinherit Israel and start anew with Moses' family. But Moses powerfully interceded. God spared them. Intercession sometimes requires heroic determination.

Numbers 14:15 - "Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness."

PRINCIPALS - "The Horns of the Altars"

Both the Brazen Altar and the Altar of Incense had horns on the four corners. Horns on a creature are considered its most exalted feature. Several scriptures say the horns of the righteous shall be exalted. Most appropriately, the priests applied the blood of sacrifices to the horns to sanctify them to the Lord. Sanctify your best features to God.

Leviticus 9:8-9 - "Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. ...and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar."

PRINCIPLES - "No Booze in the Ministry"

Is it too much for God to ask His ministers to stay sober? Why this scourge of drunkenness among professing Christian ministers today? Why should a Pastor's office have a "wet bar?" God demands that preachers stay sober.

Leviticus 10:8-10 - "And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean."

PROPHECIES - "The Cross Leads to His Glory"

The tabernacle furniture was positioned in the pattern of the Cross. BOTTOM - Altar (Repentance.) CENTER - Laver (Water Baptism.) LEFT, Candlestick (Baptism of the Holy Ghost.) RIGHT, Shewbread (The Word - bread of life.) TOP - Incense (Prayer.) They led through the Veil to the Ark of the Covenant. When we repent, get baptized, receive the Holy Spirit, study the Word and pray, we will discover the glory of God in the holiest place.

Leviticus 9:6 - "...Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you."

3

PRAYER - "Prayer for Divine Healing"

Miriam and Aaron spoke against their brother, Moses, criticizing him and challenging his authority. God Himself called all three to the Tabernacle door, where He came in a pillar of a cloud. God was angry, and vindicated Moses, smiting Miriam with leprosy. Aaron panicked and pleaded with Moses to have mercy. Moses prayed for God to heal Miriam, and seven days later, she was healed. This first occurrence proves for all time that effective prayer can and will bring divine healing.

Numbers 12:13 - "And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee."

PRINCIPALS - "Five Offerings"

Burnt Offerings (Leviticus 1) were primary sacrifices for universal sin. Meat (food) Offerings (Leviticus 2) were a gift offering. Peace Offerings (Leviticus 3) were fellowship offerings shared between God (at the altar), the priest and the donor. Sin Offerings (Leviticus 4) covered sins of ignorance - unknown sins. Trespass Offerings (Leviticus 5) covered sins that were knowingly commited.

Leviticus 4:2 - "...If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD... then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering."

Principles - "Lies and Deceptions"

Throughout the Pentateuch (the first five books, written by Moses), an almost countless array of sins are condemned. But among the reasons for the five major offerings for sins, lies, deception and bearing false witness ranked among the worst of all. The God of truth hates lies, deception and false testimony. Liars are reckoned among the worst of sinners. Only speak truth.

Leviticus 6:2-6 - "If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour... or hath deceived his neighbour; or ...sweareth falsely; ...he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD."

PROPHECIES - "Compensation for the Priests"

God stipulated that the priests should keep a portion of the burnt offerings, meat offerings, peace offerings, sin offerings, and trespass offerings for themselves. Prophetically, this a divine precedent that all ministers of all ages should be compensated for their services in the ministry.

Leviticus 7:35 - "This is the portion ...out of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto the LORD in the priest's office; Which the LORD commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, ...by a statute for ever throughout their generations."

Under God’s Rule

PRAYER - "Humble Yourselves Under The Mighty Hand Of God"

Humility
📜 How exactly are we supposed to humble ourselves? The Hebrew "anah" means, "abase self, deal harshly with self, afflict self." The Greek "tapeinoo" means, "humiliate, abase, bring low." We must lower ourselves under God's rule. It begins with a radical abandonment of selfish ambition, then willful submission to His wishes in every single area of our lives. "If my people ...shall humble themselves and pray ...turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin."

1 Peter 5:6 - "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time."

PRINCIPAL - "Sheep Going Astray"

         🔱🐍             🐑🐑🐑🐑         💃✝

📜 Paul's epistles are largely characterized by his recurring admonitions to keep the saints on the right course. The great Apostle never ceased to be concerned that his beloved saints would be led astray by deceit and deceivers. He meticulously covered as many particular issues of godliness and holy living as he could, so that we can clearly discern when we are doing right or wrong. Men of God must be diligent to keep the sheep in the fold.

1 Peter  "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."

PRINCIPLE - "Abstain From Fleshly Lusts That War Against The Soul"

Heavenly City
A child of God should never forget that he is seeking a heavenly city, and should not allow himself to be attracted or attached to things of this world. You must classify EVERYTHING that is not God's will for you as a potent adversary. Anything that entices you toward the world, the flesh or the devil is a mortal enemy, and will increasingly WAR against your soul. Lust is desire. NEVER desire anything that God forbids.

1 Peter 2:11 - "Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, 📜"abstain from fleshly lusts", which war against the soul."

PROPHECY - "A Chosen Generation"

📜 Moses told the children of Israel, "The LORD thy God hath CHOSEN thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people." Jesus told the twelve, "I have CHOSEN you out of the world." He said of Paul, "He is a CHOSEN vessel unto me." Of the Church, "He hath CHOSEN us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him." Many are called, but few are chosen.

Purpose

1 Peter 2:9-10 - "Ye are a chosen generation, ...Which in time past were not a people, but are now 📜 the people of God."

Rebuilding Your World
PRAYER - "Who Am I?"

There are times when we all feel that we are unworthy to serve the Lord. But God will give us courage to fulfill every task. He never calls us to do a job without empowering us to do it. Moses was VERY reluctant to accept the call of God to deliver Israel from Pharaoh, but God had answers to all his objections. God will surely enable us.

Exodus 3:11 - "And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?"  Let's read the story.
Bible and Commentary

PRINCIPALS - "Goshen"
Joseph knew God had put him through his trials in Egypt to preserve the posterity of Israel. "...it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt." Joseph gave them the fertile land of Goshen.

Genesis 45:10 - "And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast."  Let's read the story.
Bible

PRINCIPLES - "Enslaved to Save Lives"
Joseph sent his brothers away with the money they paid him hidden in their grain sacks, including Joseph's silver cup in Benjamin's sack. Then his servants arrested them and charged them with theft. But Joseph dropped the charges. "I am Joseph," he weepingly confessed. Their old sins against Joseph turned out for everyone's good. Same for us. God has a glorious outcome for all our sufferings..

Genesis 45:5 - "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life."  Let's read the story. Bible and Commentary

PROPHECIES - "Jacob Prophesies to Joseph"

Although God forewarned Abraham that his descendants would suffer bondage for hundreds of years, He never planned for the children of Israel to stay in Egypt permanently. God raised up a holy nation in the midst of the hostile political climate of the Pharaohs, greatest kings in the world at that time. Here is the lesson: This world is not our home. God has a better land for all His children.

Genesis 48:21 - "And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers."  Let's read the story.

PRAYER - "Call Unto Me"
While preaching a revival in the south a family came to the church to visit.  They seemed receptive to the message and faith was high. The woman came forward requesting, "Please pray for me". I invited the church  to come forward for prayer. As they came, the wisdom of the Holy Ghost spoke through  me, "This womas is missing a lung".  I told her, "Tonight God is healing  you." Upon prayer and the laying on of hands, immediately, the woman cried, "I can breathe!" Within days, her doctor confirmed the dramatic miracle. She could breath normally now. The doctor was astonished to find that she also had TWO beautiful pink lungs. Yes, God is the Healer, but He is also still the Creator. Watch our Video.
Jeremiah 33:3 - "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things."  Let's read the story. Bible
Bible Burial Places

PRINCIPALS - "Cave of Machpelah"

Sarah died in Hebron about 3700 years ago. There Abraham bought the field and cave of Machpelah from the sons of Heth to bury her. Today, the cave sits under a 2000-year-old building. Around 700 years ago, Muslims turned the place into a Mosque. Israel retook the property in 1967, but Moslems still manage it. It also contains the graves of Abraham, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob and Leah.

Genesis 23:19-20 - "Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan."  Let's read the story.

PROPHECIES - "Jacob Buys Land at Shechem"
Wells of Salvation
God promised Shechem to Abraham and his descendants. Years later, Jacob bought land there for his family. Shechem became a highly significant city throughout Bible days. Joseph visited his brethren there before being sold to slavery. Later, he was buried there. Many Bible stories occurred there, but Palestinians now control it (modern Nablus).

Genesis 33:19 - "And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for an hundred pieces of money."   Let's read the story.

PRINCIPLES - "You Made Me Stink"

Jacob settled family and flocks on promised land in Shechem. But daughter Dinah was raped by the son of the king of Shechem. Jacob's sons mindlessly murdered and plundered the entire city. Over-reacting to tragedy doubles the loss.
Genesis 34:30 - 'And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house."
